On August 4th and 5th, "SMTOWN LIVE WORLD TOUR III" took place at the Tokyo Dome, bringing together SM Entertainment artists Kangta, BoA, TVXQ, CSJH The Grace -DANA&SUNDAY-, Super Junior, Super Junior-M's Henry and Zhoumi, Girls' Generation, SHINee, f(x), EXO and J-Min at the venue, where they performed thrilling stages in front of an audience of 100,000 fans.
Over 600,000 applications were sent in to reserve tickets, and ticket purchasing grew highly competitive as fans wanted to see their favorite K-Pop artist(s) perform live.
The Tokyo Dome concert included stages by SMTOWN's sub-units (as they do not usually perform in Japan) including DANA&SUNDAY, Super Junior-M, Super Junior's Donghae&Eunhyuk and Girls' Generation's Taetiseo. In addition to that, special stages between the SM artists took place for diversity in performances, making it a total of 52 songs performed.
This is also the first time EXO has been introduced officially in Japan. As a result, the members of EXO were involved in special stages with their seniors - Luhan and Sehun being featured in SHINee's stages of "Lucifer" and "Love Like Oxygen," respectively; Super Junior's Ryeowook and Eunhyuk with EXO-M's Chen performing the sweet ballad, "Everything"; and Girls' Generation's Taetiseo with EXO's D.O., Chanyeol, Luhan and Sehun performing "DJ's Got Us Falling In Love."
TVXQ's Changmin and Super Junior's Kyuhyun also performed Bruno Mars' "Just The Way You Are."
Japanese fans decorated the Tokyo Dome with the respective color of their favorite SM Entertainment artists with lighsticks, as well as waving their fan signs and even singing along to the Korean songs, cheering the artists on warmingly.
Meanwhile, "SMTOWN LIVE WORLD TOUR III" will make its 4th stop in Korea at the Jamsil Olympic Stadium on August 18th in Seoul. In similar news, the Tokyo Dome SMTOWN concert will be broadcast on Fuji TV October 26th.
